Q: Can this board be flashed with firmware other than Tasmota?
A:Yes sure. Can be flashed via Arduino software. In this board used WEMOS D1 ESP8266 microcontroller
Q: In photos, the app on the phone has the relays pre-configured for use at the top of the screen labled 1-8. When I connected to my relay board, I did not have these relays pre programmed for use. Can you please tell me how I would go about programming the relays so that I can use them through the app?
A: TASMOTA settings:
{"NAME":"8CH Relay","GPIO":[230,1,231,229,1,1,1,1,226,225,227,224,228,1],"FLAG":0,"BASE":18}
RELAY 1 connected to D8 / GPIO15
RELAY 2 connected to D7 / GPIO13

Note From Amazon Customer
8 Channel Relay board with Tasmota pre-flashed. Mine, for whatever reason, didn't come configured with the buttons 1-8 already displayed at the top of the app screen. Adding this bit of code to the 'Template' field on the 'Configure: Other' page fixed the issue after restarting the device.
{"NAME":"8CH Relay","GPIO":[230,1,231,229,1,1,1,1,226,225,227,224,228,1],"FLAG":0,"BASE":18}
I got that fix from their support folks who are very responsive and helpful.
A+ Product, would buy again.
